Raised in rabbit, this unconjugated polyclonal antibody recognizes human aldo-keto reductase family 1 member D1 (AKR1D1), a cytosolic NADPH-dependent steroid 5β-reductase that channels Δ4-3-ketosteroid precursors into the cholic and chenodeoxycholic acid biosynthesis pathways in hepatocytes. The reagent is supplied as a 100 µl liquid aliquot and is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows against human samples.

Typical uses include Western blot detection of the ~37 kDa AKR1D1 band in cell or tissue lysates, and IHC staining of formalin-fixed liver sections to visualize enzyme expression. The unconjugated format allows pairing with the user's choice of HRP-, fluorophore-, or biotin-labeled secondary reagent. For storage, aliquot the antibody to limit freeze-thaw cycles and keep working aliquots refrigerated between uses. Researchers should titrate the working dilution empirically for their specific detection method and tissue preparation.

Provided as a research use only reagent from Antibodies.com, this polyclonal antibody supports studies of bile acid metabolism, steroid hormone regulation, and hepatic disease mechanisms linked to AKR1D1 dysfunction.
