Anti-AKR1D1 Antibody

Raised in rabbit and affinity purified, this unconjugated polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com targets AKR1D1, the hepatic NADPH-dependent 3-oxo-5β-steroid 4-dehydrogenase (EC 1.3.1.3) that introduces the 5β-cis A/B ring junction in bile acid precursors and steroid hormones. The antibody detects endogenous levels of total AKR1D1 protein in human, mouse, and rat samples and is validated for western blot, providing a probe for laboratories studying primary bile acid biosynthesis, glucocorticoid clearance, and the molecular basis of congenital bile acid synthesis defect type 2 (CBAS2), in which loss-of-function AKR1D1 mutations have been linked to neonatal cholestasis and abnormal C27 sterol accumulation. The polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes across the AKR1D1 protein, supporting consistent band detection on liver tissue and hepatocyte-derived lysate preparations.
