Offered through Antibodies.com, this rabbit polyclonal reagent is raised against human AKR1C3 (aldo-keto reductase family 1 member C3), a protein also known as 17-beta-HSD 5, HSD17B5, DD3, DDH1, PGFS and Chlordecone reductase homolog HAKRb. The antibody was generated using a recombinant human AKR1C3 protein as immunogen and subsequently purified by affinity chromatography on the immunogen, yielding an unconjugated polyclonal preparation supplied at 1.0 mg/mL in phosphate-buffered saline (pH 7.4) containing 150 mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. It is provided as a 50 µL trial aliquot (a 100 µL format is also available) and is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence (ICC/IF), with published images showing detection of endogenous AKR1C3 in paraffin-embedded human oesophageal cancer tissue and in rat kidney. The reagent reacts with human and mouse samples, recognizes the endogenous total AKR1C3 protein, and is shipped at 4°C; for long-term stability it should be aliquoted and stored at -20°C with freeze/thaw cycles avoided. Intended for research use only, this Antibodies.com polyclonal provides a sensitive, well-characterized option for laboratories profiling AKR1C3 expression in steroid-metabolising and cancer-related studies.
