Supplied through the Antibodies.com catalogue of Primary Antibodies, this reagent is an unconjugated Rabbit polyclonal raised against AKR1C1 (aldo-keto reductase family 1 member C1), the 20-alpha-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase / dihydrodiol dehydrogenase 1 enzyme that also functions as a high-affinity hepatic bile acid-binding protein. Each vial contains 50 µl of antibody formulated at 1 mg/ml in Phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 15 mM sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, giving a ready-to-use stock that can be diluted for Western blot (WB) workflows. The polyclonal host (Rabbit) reagent recognises endogenous AKR1C1 and has been validated for reactivity with Human, Mouse and Rat samples, supporting cross-species expression studies of the ~36–38 kDa target. Because the antibody is unconjugated, it can be paired with a secondary reporter of the user's choice (HRP, fluorophore, biotin, etc.) without competing labels. Routine short-term storage at 4 °C is acceptable, while longer-term aliquots should be kept at -20 °C to limit loss of activity across repeated freeze/thaw cycles; the included sodium azide acts as a microbial preservative. Researchers studying steroid metabolism, xenobiotic reduction, bile-acid handling or cancer-associated hormone signalling will find this Antibodies.com reagent a flexible primary detection tool for standard immunoblotting of AKR1C1 in cell lysates and tissue homogenates. For research use only.
