Aldo-keto reductase family 1 member A1 (AKR1A1) is a cytosolic, monomeric NADPH-dependent oxidoreductase that reduces a broad range of aromatic and aliphatic aldehydes generated during lipid peroxidation, xenobiotic biotransformation, and the polyol pathway of glucose metabolism. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com, supplied as a 100 µL vial, was raised against AKR1A1 and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat samples. Researchers apply it to map AKR1A1 expression in liver, kidney, and other aldehyde-handling tissues, to study aldehyde detoxification under oxidative stress, and to probe metabolic-disease and toxicology models. As an unconjugated primary antibody, the reagent is compatible with standard HRP- or fluorophore-coupled secondary detection chemistries in both WB and IHC workflows. For routine handling, store at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and protect from light until first use.
