The aldo-keto reductase AKR1A1 (also known as ALDR1 or aldehyde reductase) is a cytosolic NADPH-dependent oxidoreductase that reduces a broad range of aldehydes to their corresponding alcohols. It participates in hepatic detoxification, ascorbic acid biosynthesis, and the cellular response to oxidative stress, making it a target of interest in metabolism and toxicology research.

This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied unconjugated at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. The 100 µl vial supports multiple experiments across western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows. Validated reactivity spans human, mouse, and rat samples, so the same lot is useful for cross-species comparative studies on aldehyde metabolism, xenobiotic handling, and redox biology.

Sodium azide is included as a preservative; for assays where azide interferes, brief dialysis or buffer exchange before use is recommended. Store the vial at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles of the glycerol-containing solution.
