Manufactured by Antibodies.com as part of their Primary Antibodies catalogue, this reagent is a rabbit polyclonal reagent raised against AKR1A1 (aldo-keto reductase family 1 member A1), supplied as a 50 µl aliquot at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. The unconjugated antibody is validated for Western blotting and immunohistochemistry workflows and has been tested for reactivity against human, mouse, and rat samples, giving it broad utility across the most common laboratory model systems. As a polyclonal reagent produced in rabbit, it offers multi-epitope recognition of the endogenous AKR1A1 protein, which is widely expressed in metabolically active tissues such as kidney, liver, and duodenum where the encoded aldehyde reductase contributes to xenobiotic and biogenic aldehyde detoxification. The standard storage buffer formulation (PBS with azide and cryoprotectant glycerol) supports convenient handling at standard refrigeration temperatures and is suitable for the dilutions typically used in WB and IHC protocols, including the published 1:500–1:2,000 working range for immunoblotting and 1:50–1:200 range for tissue staining.
