This unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com detects the 36 kDa NADPH-dependent oxidoreductase AKR1A1, a member of the aldo-keto reductase superfamily that converts aldehyde and carbonyl intermediates to their corresponding primary alcohols in cellular aldehyde-detoxification, oxidative-stress, and polyol-pathway pathways. The reagent is supplied as 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide as preservative and 50% glycerol as cryoprotectant, and is raised in Rabbit as a polyclonal antibody. Validated applications include Western blot and immunohistochemistry, with reactivity confirmed in Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, enabling comparative studies between rodent disease models and primary human specimens. AKR1A1 has been linked to diabetic complications, neurodegenerative oxidative stress, and tumor drug-resistance phenotypes, so this reagent is useful in cell biology, molecular pathology, and translational cancer research. Store the vial at -20 °C in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycling; short-term handling at 4 °C is acceptable. For research use only.
