Rabbit polyclonal antiserum raised against the Autoimmune Regulator (AIRE) transcription factor, supplied by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated primary antibody for immunodetection applications.

AIRE is a key regulator of central immune tolerance, expressed predominantly in medullary thymic epithelial cells (mTECs), where it drives ectopic expression of peripheral tissue-restricted antigens that shape the T-cell repertoire through negative selection. Researchers studying thymic development, regulatory T-cell biology, and the molecular basis of APECED syndrome (also called APS-1, caused by loss-of-function mutations in the AIRE gene on chromosome 21q22.3) commonly employ this reagent.

The antibody is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows across human, mouse, and rat samples, and is provided as 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2. Storage at 4 °C is recommended for short-term use, with aliquots recommended for long-term freezer storage to limit freeze-thaw cycles of the polyclonal preparation.
