This polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit against Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor-Interacting Protein-Like 1 (AIPL1), a photoreceptor-enriched chaperone whose dysfunction is genetically linked to Leber Congenital Amaurosis type 4 and related inherited retinal dystrophies. The unconjugated reagent is supplied at 100 µl per vial and is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF) assays on human samples.

AIPL1 supports the assembly and stability of retinal cGMP phosphodiesterase complexes and participates in protein farnesylation pathways essential for photoreceptor outer segment maintenance. Researchers apply this reagent to retinal tissue lysates, iPSC-derived retinal organoids, and transfected cell lines to investigate photoreceptor development, characterize LCA4-associated variants, and probe interaction partners such as NUB1 and PDE6 subunits by co-immunoprecipitation. Its human specificity supports downstream studies of retinal protein quality control and cone-rod dystrophy mechanisms.

For Western blot, loading 20 to 50 µg of RIPA-extracted protein per lane under reducing SDS-PAGE conditions yields clear bands near the predicted molecular weight, detected with HRP-conjugated secondaries. For immunofluorescence, the antibody performs well on paraformaldehyde-fixed cryosections and retinal whole mounts at working dilutions in the 1:100 to 1:500 range. Aliquot the vial upon first thaw to minimize freeze-thaw cycles and refrigerate between uses to preserve functional titer across multiple experiments.
