Polyclonal antibodies from Antibodies.com targeting human Alpha-2-Heremans-Schmid glycoprotein (AHSG, also called fetuin-A) support research into this abundant hepatocyte-derived glycoprotein. AHSG accumulates in mineralized bone matrix, contributes to osteogenesis and bone resorption regulation, modulates insulin signaling, and behaves as a negative acute-phase reactant during inflammation. The unconjugated rabbit reagent is supplied at 100 µl per vial, leaving conjugation chemistry open for fluorophore, HRP, or biotin labeling matched to the imaging or detection platform of choice.

Application coverage includes western blot for resolving AHSG from cell and tissue lysates under reducing conditions, immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded or frozen sections to localize the protein in liver, placenta, and skeletal tissues, and immunofluorescence on cultured cells to monitor secretion and subcellular distribution. Storage at -20 °C in small working aliquots limits freeze-thaw degradation, and a brief centrifugation step prior to use clears any aggregates that may form during long-term storage.

Because the antibody is polyclonal, multiple epitopes on native and denatured AHSG are recognized, providing tolerance for modest sample variation between preparations. Reactivity has been confirmed against human antigen in WB, IHC, and IF workflows. The unconjugated format supports single-use and multiplex experimental designs, including co-localization studies with organelle markers or disease-related proteins, and the 100 µl pack size supplies enough reagent for dozens of staining experiments depending on dilution.
