AHSA1 (Activator of 90 kDa heat shock protein ATPase homolog 1), also annotated as AHA1, p38, C14orf3, and hAha1, is a 338-amino-acid cytosolic co-chaperone that binds HSP90AA1 and stimulates its ATPase activity roughly five-fold, supporting maturation of client proteins such as the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR), glucocorticoid receptor, and v-src. The unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as a 50 µl aliquot of IgG protein, raised against a synthesized peptide derived from the internal region of human AHSA1 and affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum. It detects endogenous AHSA1 in human, mouse, and rat samples by western blot, where the protein migrates at an apparent molecular mass of approximately 40 kDa, close to its calculated 38.3 kDa monomer size. For continuous use, the vial should be stored at -20 °C and protected from repeated freeze-thaw cycles. The unconjugated format leaves the choice of HRP-, fluorophore-, or biotin-labeled secondary reagent to the researcher, which is useful for comparative expression studies across the three reactive species and for probing AHSA1 abundance in workflows that also examine HSP90-dependent client folding.
