AGT (angiotensinogen) is the precursor glycoprotein of the renin-angiotensin system, the hormonal cascade that governs blood pressure, vascular tone, and fluid-electrolyte balance. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody is raised against AGT and validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows, with reactivity confirmed across human, mouse, and rat samples.

Supplied by Antibodies.com as 100 µl of a 1 mg/ml stock in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol cryoprotectant, the reagent is intended for cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic disease research. Typical uses include Western blot detection of hepatic and circulating angiotensinogen, and immunohistochemical localisation of AGT within renal, hepatic, and vascular tissue sections.

The polyclonal format recognises multiple epitopes on the target, which is useful when probing processed or partially cleaved angiotensinogen fragments rather than a single linear peptide. Storage should be refrigerated in the dark to preserve activity; aliquot upon receipt if repeated freeze-thaw cycles are anticipated.
