Produced in rabbit and raised against human AGPAT2, this unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com detects the 1-acylglycerol-3-phosphate O-acyltransferase 2 enzyme that converts lysophosphatidic acid into phosphatidic acid at the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. AGPAT2 sits at a key branch point of the Kennedy pathway and is required for normal triglyceride synthesis in differentiating adipocytes, which is why loss-of-function mutations cause congenital generalized lipodystrophy type 1 (BSCL1), a syndrome marked by near-absent adipose depots, severe insulin resistance, and dyslipidemia. Researchers working on phospholipid metabolism, adipocyte biology, and metabolic disease use this antibody in Western blot and immunofluorescence workflows on human samples. Each vial contains 100 µl of antiserum ready for standard immunodetection protocols.
