AGPAT2 catalyzes the acylation of lysophosphatidic acid to form phosphatidic acid, a central intermediate in glycerophospholipid and triacylglycerol biosynthesis, and loss-of-function mutations in the gene are causative of congenital generalized lipodystrophy type 1 (Berardinelli-Seip syndrome). This Antibodies.com polyclonal reagent is raised in rabbit and affinity-purified to recognize the human AGPAT2 protein for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows.
Shipped in a single-use vial as 100 µl of a 1 mg/ml stock in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, the unconjugated antibody can be paired with a secondary detection reagent of choice. Researchers studying lipid droplet biogenesis, adipocyte differentiation, phospholipid remodeling, and the metabolic complications associated with lipodystrophy use this reagent to track endogenous AGPAT2 expression in human cell lines and tissue sections.
