This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets aspartylglucosaminidase (AGA), a lysosomal amidase that hydrolyzes N-linked glycoproteins during normal lysosomal protein turnover. Raised in rabbit and purified as a polyclonal IgG preparation, it is supplied unconjugated at 100 µl per vial and validated for Western blot (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF) workflows on human and mouse samples.
AGA deficiency causes aspartylglycosaminuria, a rare lysosomal storage disorder characterized by progressive intellectual disability and connective tissue abnormalities, so a specific reagent for detecting endogenous AGA protein is useful for studying disease models, carrier status, and expression patterns across tissues. The antibody works in standard immunoblotting protocols and on fixed cells for subcellular localization studies, with reactivity confirmed for human and mouse and limited cross-reactivity outside these species.
