Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) is an oncofetal glycoprotein routinely used as a serum biomarker for hepatocellular carcinoma, germ cell tumors, and developmental biology studies, and this rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against it. Supplied as an unconjugated reagent in a 100 µl volume, the antibody is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows, allowing the same lot to support protein extraction, fixed-tissue localization, and cell-based imaging experiments. The reagent shows reactivity with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, enabling comparative work that pairs human pathology specimens with rodent disease models. As a polyclonal, it recognizes multiple epitopes on AFP, which is useful for Western blot of denatured lysates and for IHC on archived paraffin sections where individual epitopes may be masked by fixation. Store refrigerated; protect from repeated freeze-thaw cycles and aliquot on first use to preserve activity over long-term storage.
