Anti-AFG3L2 Antibody

The AFG3L2 protein is a nuclear-encoded mitochondrial metalloprotease of the AAA family, anchored in the inner mitochondrial membrane where it assembles into heteromeric proteolytic complexes with paraplegin (SPG7). This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent is raised against human AFG3L2 and validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry, supporting studies of mitochondrial protein quality control, inner-membrane remodeling, and neurodegeneration-linked pathways. Mutations in AFG3L2 have been associated with spinocerebellar ataxia type 28 (SCA28), spastic ataxia-neuropathy syndrome, and a subset of dominant optic atrophy cases, keeping the protein under active investigation in cerebellar and mitochondrial disease biology.
