The rabbit polyclonal IgG antibody from Antibodies.com recognizes the human AFF1 protein and is supplied as a 100 µl aliquot of unconjugated antiserum. It is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence detection on human samples, supporting research workflows in cell biology, oncology, and chromatin studies.
AFF1, also referred to as AF4, functions as a transcription elongation factor within the super elongation complex and contributes to RNA polymerase II regulation at actively transcribed loci. The protein acquires clinical importance through the t(4;11) chromosomal translocation that generates the MLL-AF4 fusion, a defining lesion in a high-risk subset of infant acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Investigators therefore use this reagent to study leukemogenesis mechanisms, elongation dynamics, and the assembly of chromatin remodeling complexes. Working aliquots stored at -20 °C are recommended for polyclonal IgG preparations of this type to preserve binding activity across repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
