Description

ADRA1B encodes the alpha-1B adrenergic receptor, a 7-transmembrane G protein-coupled receptor that responds to catecholamines and signals primarily through Gq/11 and phospholipase C to drive smooth-muscle contraction and vasoconstriction. The receptor is documented in heart, brain, spleen, kidney, liver, prostate, adrenal, and aortic tissue, and changes in its abundance are linked to cardiovascular phenotypes, blood-pressure regulation, and benign prostatic hyperplasia.

This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as a 200 µl liquid aliquot of IgG and is intended for Western blot detection of total ADRA1B protein in lysates prepared from human, mouse, and rat samples. Because the reagent is unconjugated, users select an HRP- or fluorophore-labeled secondary antibody matched to their chemiluminescence or imaging system, and empirical titration across a dilution series is recommended to optimize band clarity at the expected ~56 kDa position.

For reliable Western blot performance, lysates should be prepared with protease inhibitors, clarified by centrifugation, and denatured in reducing SDS sample buffer before SDS-PAGE separation and transfer to nitrocellulose or PVDF. Following transfer, membranes are blocked, probed with the primary antibody overnight at 4 °C, washed, and detected with a compatible secondary. Aliquot upon first thaw and store at -20 °C; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve activity. For research use only; not approved for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
