Anti-ADO Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com targets the ADO enzyme, also known as 2-aminoethanethiol dioxygenase or cysteamine dioxygenase. ADO is a non-heme iron-dependent thiol dioxygenase that oxidizes cysteamine to hypotaurine, linking thiol catabolism to taurine biosynthesis and the cellular response to oxidative stress. The unconjugated, liquid-format antibody is supplied in a 200 µl vial and is intended for research use only.

The antibody is validated for Western blot detection in human, mouse, and rat samples, where ADO migrates as a band near 28–30 kDa. Because the reagent is unconjugated, it pairs readily with HRP-, fluorescent-, or biotinylated secondary antibodies selected by the researcher, supporting chemiluminescent or fluorescence-based readouts on standard nitrocellulose membranes.

ADO shows highest endogenous expression in brain, heart, and skeletal muscle, and altered ADO activity has been investigated in studies of sulfur metabolism, taurine biosynthesis, and hypoxia-related signaling. Each 200 µl liquid aliquot can be subdivided across multiple Western blot runs according to individual protocol requirements.
