Class IV alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH7) is a stomach-enriched, retinol-active isozyme that contributes to first-pass ethanol oxidation and biogenic aldehyde turnover in the upper gastrointestinal tract. The Antibodies.com polyclonal reagent is a rabbit IgG preparation raised against this target and supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide, pH approximately 7.2, packaged in a single vial containing 100 µl of working stock.

Validated applications include western blot detection of the approximately 40 kDa ADH7 monomer and immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed tissue sections, with confirmed reactivity on Human, Mouse, and Rat samples. Researchers typically titrate the antibody against a positive control such as gastric mucosal lysate or sections, where ADH7 is most abundant. The unconjugated format leaves conjugation chemistry open, so the reagent can be paired with HRP, biotin, fluorophore, or gold secondaries depending on whether chromogenic, fluorescence, or pre-embedding immunolabeling is needed.

Storage recommendations call for refrigerated short-term handling and freezing in single-use aliquots to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles; the included sodium azide prevents microbial contamination. The product is intended for research use only, and it is not validated for clinical diagnostic or therapeutic application.
