Anti-ADH1A Antibody

Raised in rabbit as a polyclonal reagent against human Alcohol Dehydrogenase 1A (ADH1A), this unconjugated primary antibody supports detection of the cytosolic zinc-dependent enzyme responsible for the NAD+-dependent oxidation of ethanol to acetaldehyde. Endogenous expression of ADH1A is concentrated in hepatic tissue, where it contributes to first-pass alcohol metabolism and to the broader clearance of short-chain alcohols and retinoids.

Validated by Antibodies.com for Western blot and immunohistochemistry, the reagent recognizes both Human and Mouse ADH1A, enabling comparative studies of hepatic enzyme expression across species. The polyclonal format increases the likelihood of recognizing multiple epitopes on the ADH1A homodimer, useful when probing denatured lysates in WB or fixed sections in IHC.

Supplied as 100 µL of unconjugated antisera, the antibody is flexible for downstream workflows: it can be paired with HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents, and is compatible with chromogenic DAB detection as well as fluorescence-based imaging.
