Raised in rabbit against human ADFP (adipose differentiation-related protein, also called adipophilin and perilipin-2/PLIN2), this polyclonal reagent targets a major coat protein of intracellular lipid droplets and is widely used to track neutral lipid accumulation in cells and tissue. Supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the 100 µl volume from Antibodies.com supports a long series of Western blot membranes or immunohistochemistry runs without the need to aliquot on arrival. Validated for WB and IHC on human samples, it is suited to studies of adipocyte differentiation, hepatic steatosis, foam-cell biology in atherosclerotic lesions, and lipid-storage disorders, where ADFP staining marks the surface of cytoplasmic oil droplets in fixed sections. Store the glycerol-stabilised antibody frozen at -20 °C in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw damage to the IgG fraction, and avoid prolonged exposure of the working dilution to room temperature.
