This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit against Adducin α (ADD1) and also recognizes the homologous Adducin β (ADD2) subunit. Adducin heterodimers localize to the spectrin–actin junctions of the cortical membrane skeleton, where they cap the fast-growing ends of actin filaments, promote spectrin–F-actin crosslinking, and are modulated by calmodulin binding and PKC/PKA phosphorylation, with consequences for cell shape, adhesion, ion transport, and erythrocyte mechanical stability.
Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum, it is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, immunoprecipitation, and ELISA workflows. Cross-reactivity with human, mouse, and rat samples makes it useful in studies of hypertension-associated ADD1 polymorphisms, renal sodium handling, neuronal cytoskeletal remodeling, and red blood cell membrane integrity.
