This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com specifically detects ADD1 (alpha-adducin) only when phosphorylated at serine 726. Adducin is a membrane-skeletal protein that caps the fast-growing ends of actin filaments and promotes spectrin-actin interactions at the cell cortex. Phosphorylation at S726 by kinases such as protein kinase C and Rho-associated kinase alters its subcellular localization and actin-capping activity, linking it to cytoskeletal remodeling during cell motility, cytokinesis, and changes in membrane architecture.

Validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows, the reagent cross-reacts with human, mouse, and rat samples, giving broad utility across standard research models. It is supplied as an unconjugated IgG in a 50 µl volume, leaving the secondary label and detection chemistry open to the end user, and is routinely used in studies of erythrocyte membrane stability, neuronal cytoskeleton organization, renal sodium transport, and epithelial tight-junction maintenance.
