ADD1 (alpha-adducin) is a membrane-skeletal protein that caps the barbed ends of actin filaments and stabilizes the spectrin–actin lattice in erythrocytes and other cell types. This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com was raised against an epitope mapping to a region encompassing residue 726 of the human ADD1 sequence, making it well-suited to studies of phosphorylation-dependent regulation of adducin in cytoskeletal remodeling, renal sodium reabsorption, and hypertension-linked signaling. The unconjugated preparation is supplied as 100 µl of affinity-purified antisera and is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence on human, mouse, and rat specimens. Polyclonal reactivity broadens epitope coverage relative to a single monoclonal clone, which is helpful when monitoring post-translational modifications at the 726-region site. Store the vial frozen at -20 °C in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light. The reagent is intended for research use only and is compatible with standard HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies.
