Because ADAM2 expression is concentrated in post-meiotic spermatogenic cells, the reagent supports research on spermatogenesis, sperm maturation, and male-factor fertility, alongside broader studies of the disintegrin-metalloproteinase family in reproductive and non-reproductive tissues.

Validated applications are Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human samples.
