Anti-ACVRL1 Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com targets ACVRL1 (also called ALK1), a type I serine/threonine kinase receptor in the TGF-beta superfamily that is most strongly expressed on vascular endothelial cells. Ligand binding by BMP9 and BMP10 triggers SMAD1/5/9 signaling and regulates angiogenic sprouting, vessel quiescence, and endothelial homeostasis, which is why ACVRL1 is widely used as a marker of arterial endothelium and of disease-associated vasculature.

The reagent is supplied as 100 µL of unconjugated antiserum raised in rabbit and validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human samples. For immunoblotting, typical lysate loads fall in the 20–40 µg range with the expected band near 55–60 kDa; for IHC, it has been applied to both formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections and acetone-fixed frozen tissue, with citrate or EDTA antigen retrieval commonly used.

Because ACVRL1 loss-of-function variants underlie hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia type 2 (HHT2), the reagent is also used in research on arteriovenous malformations, pulmonary arterial hypertension, and endothelial signaling studies. For short-term use, keep the working aliquot refrigerated; for longer-term storage, freeze the parent vial at –20 °C and prepare single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles.
