The ACTR2 protein (Actin-Related Protein 2) is a key subunit of the Arp2/3 complex, a seven-subunit assembly that nucleates branched actin filament networks at the leading edge of migrating cells. This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets ACTR2 and is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows. It reacts with human, mouse, and rat samples, making it a versatile reagent for cross-species studies of cytoskeletal remodeling, lamellipodia formation, cell migration, and invadopodia dynamics in cancer and developmental models.

Supplied as 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the unconjugated rabbit polyclonal can be paired with HRP, biotin, or fluorophore-labeled secondary reagents chosen by the researcher. Store the vial at -20°C, protected from light, in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles; the glycerol cryoprotectant preserves antibody activity between uses, and the included sodium azide maintains sterility during short-term 4°C handling.

Arp2/3-driven actin branching underlies many cellular processes that investigators probe, including endocytic vesicle trafficking, immune synapse assembly, neuronal growth cone steering, and the invasive behavior of metastatic cells. This Anti-ACTR2 reagent enables detection of the ACTR2 subunit in whole-cell lysates, subcellular fractions, and fixed tissue sections. The polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes on ACTR2, which can improve signal robustness over monoclonal alternatives when target expression is low or partially masked by post-translational modification.
