Anti-Active Caspase-3 Antibody

During apoptosis, caspase-3 is cleaved into its catalytically active subunits, and this monoclonal reagent from Antibodies.com was raised in mouse against a synthetic peptide mapping to the large subunit of human caspase-3 so it preferentially detects the activated p17 fragment rather than the inactive zymogen. Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antibody, the product is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, supporting cross-species studies of programmed cell death in cell lysates and formalin-fixed tissue sections. In Western blot it labels the ~17 kDa cleaved large subunit, while in IHC it produces cytoplasmic staining of apoptotic cells in developing, injured, or treated tissues including brain, thymus, and tumor models. The vial should be kept refrigerated and protected from light, with aliquots prepared after first use to limit freeze-thaw loss. For research use only.
