Raised in rabbit as a polyclonal antiserum, this unconjugated primary antibody from Antibodies.com recognizes Actin-γ2 (ACTG2), the smooth muscle isoform of gamma-actin. ACTG2 is a ~42 kDa cytoskeletal protein enriched in enteric and vascular smooth muscle, and it serves as a differentiation marker in gastrointestinal motility research, visceral myopathy studies, and investigations of smooth muscle development.
The reagent is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC), with reactivity confirmed across Human, Mouse, and Rat samples to support cross-species translational work. Each vial contains 100 µL of unconjugated antibody, allowing researchers to conjugate the product in-house with HRP, biotin, or a fluorophore of choice depending on the detection chemistry of their workflow.
For storage, aliquot on receipt and store frozen at -20 °C in single-use portions to limit freeze-thaw cycles; for active use, keep refrigerated at 4 °C and protect from light. Brief centrifugation of the vial before opening helps recover the full volume. Intended for research use only.
