The Acyl-CoA Synthetase Long-Chain Family Member 6 (ACSL6) enzyme catalyzes ATP-dependent activation of long-chain fatty acids, converting them into acyl-CoA thioesters that feed into lipid biosynthesis and beta-oxidation pathways. This rabbit-derived polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against ACSL6 and supplied as an unconjugated antiserum in a 100 ul volume, ready for use in western blot, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA workflows without further conjugation. Validated reactivity is reported against human, mouse, and rat samples, allowing investigators to probe endogenous ACSL6 expression across common mammalian model systems and matched human tissues.

ACSL6 is most highly expressed in tissues with active lipid turnover, including brain, testis, and certain hormone-responsive epithelia, and altered ACSL6 levels have been documented in studies of breast cancer, colorectal carcinoma, and neurological disease. Researchers use this reagent to detect endogenous ACSL6 by western blot, localize the protein to specific cellular compartments in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections by IHC, and quantify relative antigen levels in ELISA-based experiments. Because the antibody is unconjugated, it can be paired with HRP, fluorescent, or biotinylated secondary antibodies selected for the chosen detection platform, and works with both chemiluminescent and colorimetric substrate systems when an appropriate reporter is introduced.
