ACOX1 (Acyl-CoA Oxidase 1) is a peroxisomal flavoprotein that catalyzes the first and rate-limiting step of very long chain fatty acid beta-oxidation, converting acyl-CoA substrates to trans-2-enoyl-CoA products while transferring electrons directly to molecular oxygen. This rabbit polyclonal antibody, supplied by Antibodies.com, targets the human ACOX1 protein and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on samples derived from human and mouse tissues.

The unconjugated Ig fraction is provided as a 100 µl liquid aliquot suitable for multiple immunoblot or section-staining experiments. Because ACOX1 expression is broadly distributed across metabolically active tissues including liver, kidney, and adrenal cortex, the reagent is commonly used in studies of peroxisomal biogenesis disorders, fatty acid metabolism, and the cellular response to high-fat diet or PPAR-alpha agonists.

Researchers investigating ACOX1 deficiency, Zellweger spectrum disorders, or peroxisome proliferation in rodent models will find the human and mouse cross-reactivity useful for translational comparisons. Recommended starting dilutions typically range from 1:500 to 1:2000 for Western blot and 1:100 to 1:400 for IHC on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections, though optimal working concentrations should be determined empirically for each sample type.
