ACOT8 (Acyl-CoA Thioesterase 8), also known as PTE-2, is a peroxisomal enzyme that hydrolyzes acyl-CoA thioesters and contributes to lipid metabolism through peroxisomal fatty acid oxidation pathways. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets human ACOT8 and is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and ELISA workflows. It is supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal antiserum and detects endogenous ACOT8 in cell lysates and tissue sections from human samples. Because the reagent is unconjugated, it can be paired with a secondary antibody of the researcher's choice for chromogenic or fluorescent detection. The reagent is useful for studies of peroxisomal biology, fatty acid oxidation, and the regulation of acyl-CoA pools in hepatic and renal tissues, where ACOT8 expression has been documented.
