Anti-ACOT1 Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets ACOT1 (Acyl-CoA Thioesterase 1), a peroxisomal and cytosolic enzyme that hydrolyzes long-chain acyl-CoA thioesters into free fatty acids and coenzyme A, helping to regulate intracellular lipid flux. The reagent is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum raised in rabbit, and is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF) workflows on human samples. As a primary antibody it is intended for research use only and supports studies of fatty acid oxidation, lipid droplet biology, peroxisomal metabolism, and the regulatory role of thioesterases in metabolic disease models where endogenous ACOT1 expression needs to be resolved.

The polyclonal format presents multiple epitopes across the ACOT1 protein, which can be advantageous when probing conformational variants or low-abundance targets. For Western blot, the antibody enables visualization of the expected ~46 kDa ACOT1 band in lysates derived from human cell lines and tissues. For immunofluorescence, the unconjugated format permits flexible pairing with fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents matched to the user's preferred microscope configuration.
