Targeting the alpha-1 subunit of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (AChRα1, encoded by CHRNA1), this polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com supports neuromuscular junction research and studies of muscle-type receptor autoimmunity. The reagent is supplied as a 100 µl aliquot and has been validated for Western blot and ELISA workflows across human, mouse, and rat specimens.

AChRα1 forms part of the ligand-gated cation channel responsible for acetylcholine-driven depolarization at the motor end plate. Mutations and autoantibodies affecting this subunit underlie congenital myasthenic syndromes and a subset of myasthenia gravis cases, making well-characterised immunological reagents important for receptor pharmacology, developmental biology, and autoantibody screening studies. The polyclonal format allows recognition of multiple epitopes across the target protein, supporting signal in Western blot applications using whole-cell lysates or tissue homogenates, while the unconjugated presentation leaves detection chemistry open to HRP, fluorescent, or biotinylated secondaries.

Cross-reactivity is reported for human, mouse, and rat samples, allowing the same reagent to be used across comparative species work. For best results, aliquot upon receipt and limit freeze-thaw cycles to preserve antibody activity through extended experimental campaigns.
