This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets ACER1 (alkaline ceramidase 1), the lipid-metabolizing enzyme that hydrolyzes ceramide to sphingosine and governs sphingolipid balance in human, mouse, and rat samples.
Supplied unconjugated at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, the antibody is formatted for both Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows, supporting detection of endogenous ACER1 in cell lysates and formalin-fixed tissue sections.
ACER1 biology is of particular interest in epidermal differentiation and stratum corneum lipid organization, where biallelic loss-of-function mutations are associated with autosomal recessive exfoliative ichthyosis. The enzyme also contributes to leukotriene precursor metabolism, connecting ceramide turnover to inflammatory lipid-mediator signaling. Each 100 µl vial provides ample material for multiple blotting or staining experiments across species.
