This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets ACE1 (Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme 1), a zinc-dependent dipeptidyl carboxypeptidase that occupies a central position in the renin-angiotensin system by cleaving angiotensin I to produce the vasoconstrictor angiotensin II. Raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated reagent in a 100 µl vial, it has been validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA workflows and shows reactivity with human, mouse, and rat samples.

ACE1 is anchored in the plasma membrane of vascular endothelial cells, with the pulmonary endothelium being the richest source, and it is also expressed by renal proximal tubule epithelium, the brush border of the small intestine, and cells of the testis. Because it sits at a key regulatory step in blood pressure homeostasis and fluid balance, ACE1 is a frequent target in cardiovascular, renal, and pulmonary research, where investigators probe its regulation in models of hypertension, diabetic nephropathy, heart failure, acute lung injury, and SARS-CoV-2 viral entry, since the enzyme is also the cell-surface receptor exploited by certain coronaviruses.

For storage, the antibody should be kept refrigerated at 4 °C for short-term use, with working aliquots recommended to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve lot-to-lot performance across repeated blots, tissue sections, and plate-based assays.
