Description

A monoclonal antibody from Antibodies.com raised against the N-terminus of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE). It is produced in mouse, purified, and supplied unconjugated. The reagent is validated for Western blot (WB) applications and reacts with human and mouse samples.

ACE is a carboxy-terminal dipeptidyl exo-peptidase that converts Angiotensin I to the potent vasopressive hormone Angiotensin II. Two isoforms are described: pulmonary ACEP, a glycoprotein expressed in vascular endothelial cells of the lung, liver, adrenal cortex, pancreas, kidney and spleen; and testicular ACET, expressed exclusively in adult testis by developing sperm cells, specifically late pachytene spermatocytes. ACE also inactivates the vasodepressor peptide bradykinin and is involved in fluid and electrolyte homeostasis.

The antibody is provided as a purified mouse monoclonal in a buffer containing 0.1 M Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4, 150 mM NaCl) with 0.2% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. One scientific validation image is available.
