ACE (Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme, also designated CD143) is a zinc-dependent dipeptidyl carboxypeptidase that converts angiotensin I into the vasopressor angiotensin II and inactivates bradykinin, making it central to studies of blood pressure regulation, vascular biology, and renal physiology. This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com was raised against a synthetic peptide corresponding to the F940 region of ACE and recognizes an epitope within the C-terminal cytoplasmic domain of the somatic isoform.

The antibody is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting comparative work across model organisms and archived clinical specimens. It is supplied as an unconjugated preparation at 1 mg/ml in phosphate-buffered saline containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, in a 50 µl vial. For routine handling, aliquot upon first use and refrigerate at 4 °C; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve activity.

Researchers investigating hypertension, cardiovascular remodeling, diabetic nephropathy, or the renin-angiotensin system can use this reagent to track ACE expression in tissue sections and lysates, and to assess the relative abundance of full-length somatic ACE compared with shorter germinal or shed forms where epitope context permits.
