Anti-ACE Antibody

Raised in rabbit, this polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com targets angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), the zinc-dependent dipeptidyl carboxypeptidase that cleaves angiotensin I to produce the vasoconstrictor angiotensin II and degrades bradykinin. ACE anchors on the luminal surface of vascular endothelial cells and is also abundant in the brush border of renal proximal tubules, alveolar epithelium, the choroid plexus, and testicular Leydig cells, with the somatic isoform predominating in most tissues and a germinal isoform restricted to testis.

Validated for western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC), the antibody recognizes the ACE orthologue in human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting cross-species studies in cardiovascular, renal, and pulmonary models. Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated IgG in a vial, it can be paired with HRP, biotin, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents for chemiluminescent, chromogenic, or immunofluorescent detection. The unconjugated format is compatible with standard antigen retrieval protocols for formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections and with reducing SDS-PAGE conditions for WB.
