ACAN (Aggrecan) is a large aggregating proteoglycan central to cartilage structure and a frequent target in studies of osteoarthritis, skeletal development, and extracellular matrix biology. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against the aggrecan core protein and validated for Western blot detection in human and rat samples. The reagent is provided at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline containing 15 mM sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, packaged in a 100 µl vial ready for direct use in standard immunoblotting workflows. Store frozen at -20 degrees C, protected from light, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles by preparing single-use aliquots. The polyclonal format offers broader epitope recognition than monoclonal alternatives, useful when probing aggrecan degradation fragments, splice isoforms, or tissue-specific glycosylation patterns in cartilage, meniscus, or intervertebral disc extracts.
