This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against ACADM (medium-chain acyl-CoA dehydrogenase), the mitochondrial matrix enzyme that catalyzes the first dehydrogenation step of fatty acid beta-oxidation for medium-chain acyl-CoA substrates. The antibody is supplied unconjugated in a 100 µl vial, leaving the choice of reporter (HRP, biotin, Alexa Fluor, or alkaline phosphatase secondaries) to the end user for membrane blotting, fixed-tissue staining, or multiplexed immunofluorescence workflows. It is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat samples, and the polyclonal format allows recognition of several epitopes across the ACADM protein, which is highly expressed in liver, cardiac muscle, and skeletal muscle where it supports ketogenesis and energy production during fasting.

Researchers studying MCAD deficiency, sudden infant death related to hypoketotic hypoglycemia, hepatic lipid handling, and cardiac substrate switching rely on this reagent to compare enzyme abundance between patient-derived fibroblasts, control tissues, and knockout or disease-model animals. The unconjugated presentation is convenient for titration across chemiluminescent immunoblots and for chromogenic DAB or fluorescence-based IHC on paraffin sections, as well as for probing endogenous ACADM levels in primary hepatocyte and cardiomyocyte cultures.
