Anti-ACAA1 Antibody

A polyclonal antibody raised in rabbit against ACAA1 (Acetyl-CoA Acyltransferase 1), the peroxisomal 3-ketoacyl-CoA thiolase that catalyzes the final thiolytic step of fatty acid beta-oxidation. The antibody detects endogenous ACAA1 protein, which localizes to peroxisomes and contributes to lipid metabolism and branched-chain fatty acid degradation. Altered ACAA1 expression has been reported in peroxisomal biogenesis disorders and in metabolic studies of very long chain fatty acid processing. Recommended uses include immunoblotting of whole-cell lysates and IHC staining of formaldehyde-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections. For best results, aliquot upon arrival, store at -20 degrees C, and limit freeze-thaw cycles to preserve reactivity.
