ABHD5, also referred to as CGI-58, is a lysophosphatidic acid acyltransferase coactivator that plays a central role in intracellular lipid droplet turnover by stimulating the triglyceride hydrolase activity of ATGL. This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against ABHD5 and is validated for western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) applications in human samples. The unconjugated reagent is supplied as a 100 µl aliquot of polyclonal antiserum and is intended for research use only. ABHD5 is widely studied in the context of neutral lipid storage disease (Chanarin-Dorfman syndrome), where loss-of-function mutations impair lipid mobilization, and the antibody supports investigation of autophagy, peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor signaling, and hepatic steatosis models. Researchers working with patient-derived fibroblasts, adipocyte lysates, or paraffin-embedded tissue sections will find the reagent useful for probing endogenous ABHD5 expression alongside appropriate loading controls.
