Produced in rabbit as a polyclonal reagent against the ATP-binding cassette transporter G1 (ABCG1), this unconjugated primary antibody is supplied by Antibodies.com at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2. The 100 µl vial format is configured for western blot detection of endogenous ABCG1 in human, mouse, and rat samples. ABCG1 is a transmembrane cholesterol transporter that facilitates efflux of cellular cholesterol and phospholipids to lipid-poor HDL acceptors, making it a frequent research target in studies of macrophage lipid handling, foam cell biology, and atherosclerotic plaque progression. Investigators exploring reverse cholesterol transport, hepatic lipid clearance, and lipid dysregulation in neurodegenerative disease routinely assess ABCG1 expression across tissues such as brain, spleen, and lung by immunoblotting. The polyclonal antibody format provides broad epitope coverage across full-length ABCG1, while the unconjugated state permits flexible pairing with HRP-, fluorophore-, or biotin-labeled secondary reagents. Aliquoting upon first use helps minimize freeze-thaw cycles of the PBS-based stock.
