This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets ABCC9, the ATP-binding cassette transporter sub-family C member 9 protein, also known as SUR2. SUR2 serves as a regulatory subunit of ATP-sensitive potassium (KATP) channels, coupling cellular metabolic state to membrane excitability in cardiac myocytes, vascular smooth muscle, and pancreatic beta cells.

Raised in rabbit, the antibody is supplied as an unconjugated preparation in a 100 µl vial. It has been validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows, and it has been verified to react with human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting translational studies that compare cardiac, vascular, and metabolic tissues across species.

ABCC9 is widely investigated in the context of KATP channel pharmacology, cardioprotection, vascular tone regulation, and insulin secretion. Rare loss-of-function and gain-of-function variants in ABCC9 are linked to Cantu syndrome (hypertrichotic osteochondrodysplasia), Brugada syndrome, and increased susceptibility to early-onset atrial fibrillation, while common polymorphisms have been associated with altered cardiac repolarization and risk of myocardial infarction.

For handling, the antibody should be stored at -20 °C in small working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles; for short-term bench use it may be kept refrigerated at 4 °C. It is intended for research use only and is suitable for probing endogenous ABCC9 protein levels in tissue lysates, membrane fractions, and fixed sections.
