From Antibodies.com, this rabbit polyclonal reagent recognizes ABCC1 (ATP Binding Cassette Subfamily C Member 1), the membrane transporter widely referred to as MRP1 (Multidrug Resistance-associated Protein 1). The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum, validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC), and reactive with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples.

ABCC1/MRP1 is an approximately 190 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein that operates as an ATP-dependent efflux pump, exporting glutathione conjugates, glucuronides, and many organic anions from the cytoplasm. It contributes to cellular detoxification, xenobiotic disposition, and the active barrier properties of epithelia in the lung, kidney, and at the blood-brain interface. Polyclonal antibodies raised against multiple epitopes of the transporter are commonly used to track endogenous expression in membrane-enriched lysates by Western blot and to localize the protein in formalin-fixed tissue sections by IHC.

Typical research applications include studies of chemoresistance in tumor cell lines, hepatic and renal drug transport, and pharmacokinetic characterization of substrate efflux. The unconjugated format lets researchers pair the antibody with a secondary reporter of their choice for chromogenic, fluorescent, or chemiluminescent detection. For short-term use, store refrigerated, aliquot to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light to preserve activity.
