The Antibodies.com anti-ABCB1 polyclonal antibody is raised in rabbit and recognizes P-glycoprotein (also called MDR1), a roughly 170 kDa ATP-binding cassette transporter that pumps xenobiotics, chemotherapeutic drugs, and lipid substrates across the plasma membrane. ABCB1 is most often studied in the context of multidrug resistance in tumor cell lines, where its overexpression limits intracellular drug accumulation, and as a gatekeeper at barrier tissues such as the blood-brain barrier, intestinal epithelium, liver, and kidney.

Provided as 200 µl of unconjugated Rabbit IgG, the reagent is validated for Western blot and immunofluorescence workflows. The polyclonal format makes it well suited to probing both denatured epitopes on membranes and native protein in fixed cells, supporting expression surveys across human, mouse, and rat samples. Host species and isotype information allow straightforward use with standard anti-rabbit secondary antibodies and either chemiluminescent or fluorescent detection chemistries.

Because ABCB1 is a marker of efflux capacity, the antibody is commonly paired with functional transport assays in cancer pharmacology, neuroscience, and toxicology research, and is intended for research use only.
